The world of Permius is massive in its scope, and grows every day in terms of its history and lore. This is the main world in which the events of The Dragon Wars take place. However, there are so many other stories within.
Permius consists of the continents of Gourment to the north, Sondren to the south, Ilgondrin to the east, the western isles of Baldin, and the eastern isles of Rendin. These make up the five main continents of the world. There are lands that dwell beyond these five, though they remain vacant in the early days.
Gourment
Gourment, the northern continent, and birthplace of the dwarves, was the first to be settled by humans, and remains the chief home of some of their greatest nations. The dwarves dwell within Landuin and Duelmarenzin, and the Yaldor in their southern mountains. The land of the west is fertile, but going eastwards brings many desserts and rocky expanses, unsuitable for most opportunists. To the far north lay frozen wastes in the winters and damp marshes in the summer. The south holds temperate lands that are exceedingly prosperous.
Sondren
Sondren, the southern continent, and birthplace of the elves, was settled by a secondary group of humans later than Gourment. Here, away from the generational conflicts of the north, the people led prosperous lives, though their experience for war dwindled, leaving them weak in some ways. The kingdom of Taldor reigns supreme for men, though Auquin remains strongly in control of the elven folk.
Ilgondrin
Ilgondrin, the eastern continent, and birthplace of the selnans, remains a relatively unsettled expanse for much of the early history of Permius. There are many who come here seeking opportunity, and they form many smaller communities, but there are few that last. Key outliers to this are the kingdoms of C’thaldor and Delmrin, as well as the city-state of Morgath.
Baldin
The western isles of Baldin are quaint in power, but house the capital for one of the most lucrative nations within Permius: Condrin. Baldin remains a land of constant struggle, with the smaller powers within trying to claim whatever they can, leading to constant war. Many of the other continents consider the inhabitants of these lands to be barbarians of sorts (with the exception of Condrin).
Rendin
The eastern isles of Rendin are an odd sort. They were settled late in Permius’ early history, but there were many ruins of other civilizations long passed. No one knows where these come from, and so many stay away from superstition alone. The main island of Rendin, which is constantly bombarded by storms was chosen as the place to house the legendary Sohlen Academy.
